What is Hydrocodone?
Hydrocodone is the generic term for drugs like Norco, Lorcet, Lortab, Vicodin, etc. This drug is offered as tablets, syrups, and capsules. The group of drugs known as narcotic pain relievers includes hydrocodone. This medicine is an opioid analgesic.
The extended forms of both of its variants, Zohydro ER and Hysingla ER, are available for this drug. These are employed constantly to alleviate discomfort. Therefore, they should not be taken for pain treatment on an as-needed basis.
The purpose of this combo drug is to treat moderate to severe pain. Both an opioid painkiller (hydrocodone) and a non-opioid painkiller are present (acetaminophen). The brain-based effects of hydrocodone alter how your body perceives and reacts to pain. Additionally, acetaminophen helps lower a fever.
Due to a higher risk of serious adverse effects (such slow/shallow breathing), this product is not advised for use in children under the age of six.
